1. Qualifications: The applicant must hold a foreign passport or proof of nationality with four or more years’ validity， and must have been living abroad for over two years (if the applicant has lived abroad for nine months or more in any given year， this shall be counted as a full year) in the last four years (as of April 30thof the year).
2. Conditions for Application
2.1 Non-Chinese citizens with good physical health and no criminal records;
2.2 Applicants who abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and who comply with the rules and regulations of the university;
2.3 Applicants who display the correct attitude to learning and have evidence of outstanding performance;
2.4 Requirements for educational background and age of applicants:
2.4.1 Applicants for junior college and bachelor’s degree must have a high school education or above， evidence of outstanding performance， and be under 25 years of age;
2.4.2 Applicants for master’s degree must hold a bachelor’s degree or above， or have graduated from junior college more than 2 years previously， and be under 35 years of age;
2.4.3 Applicants for doctoral degrees must hold a master’s degree or above and be under 40 years of age;
2.4.4 Applicants for Chinese language study must have high school education or above and be under 55 years of age;
2.4.5 Applicants for visiting scholars must satisfy the relevant requirements of China’s Ministry of Education and be under 45 years of age.
3. Materials to Be Submitted
3.1 Application Form;
3.2 Original or notarized copy of highest level diploma (if the applicant is a student or is currently in employment， he or she needs to provide a certificate issued by the school or employer); documents provided in languages other than Chinese or English shall be accompanied by a notarized Chinese or English translation;
3.3 Applications for junior college， undergraduate shall include senior high school transcripts; postgraduate candidates shall include undergraduate or postgraduate transcripts respectively (junior college graduates shall include junior college transcripts and certificate of work experience for 2 years and above); original or notarized copies of the transcripts shall be provided; transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English shall be accompanied by a notarized Chinese or English translation;
3.4 Applications for junior college， undergraduate and visiting scholars shall include a personal statement， outlining the applicant’s study plan， of no less than 400 words;
3.5 Applications for postgraduate candidates shall include a personal statement， outlining the applicant’s study plan， of no less than 600 words， along with two recommendation letters from members of academic staff of associate professor level or above; Applications for doctoral candidates shall include a personal statement， outlining the applicant’s research plan of no less than 800 words， as well as two recommendation letters from members of academic staff of associate professor level or above;
3.6 Certification of Chinese skills， English skills or equivalent certification;
3.7 Original or notarized copy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form and blood test report;
3.8 Original or notarized copy of the Certificate of Clearance; documents provided in languages other than Chinese or English shall be accompanied by a notarized Chinese or English translation;
3.9 If the applicant is less than 18 years old， he or she must provide a power of attorney from their business in China or a power of attorney from their guardian in China， certified by a Chinese embassy overseas.
Note: The documents will not be returned to applicants regardless of whether the application is successful or not.
4. Application Process
The applicants shall send their applications directly to the Admissions Office of School of International Education， Henan University of Chinese Medicine.
